Free Object On Loan To Trinity College, Cambridge
A significant new work is on loan to Trinity College, Cambridge from October 2017 as part of the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the King’s Hall.
Free Object is part of Antony Gormley’s cast iron ‘Blockworks’ series which began in 2005. It is the largest Blockwork to date and is 2.5 times life-size. The Blockworks started as small physical pixels evolving into ever bigger blocks, where description gave way to the mutual relation of large blocks carrying the feeling of bodily habitation.
The work is sited on the North Meadow, opposite the Wren Library. It will be on view for a year.
