Early Slate Works

Slate is a sedimentary stone that betrays its origins by being able to be split. I like the idea of using its ability to break down into layers to make a number of works, including Untitled (Double Spiral) and Plate, but also a slate bottle, which in some way allows the material to display its own character, in the same way that wood is used in the early tree works. Eave, which is a complement to the Full Bottle, attempts to make an ally of sedimentary geology for shelter, to survive.
