Thaddaeus Ropac and White Cube present a two-part exhibition by Antony Gormley, marking the artist’s first solo presentation in the city.
Titled ‘Inextricable’, the exhibition responds to the reality that more than half of the global population now live within an urban matrix. It raises the question of whether art can serve a meaningful purpose in examining the freedoms and constraints shaped by the urban landscape and their impact on the body. As Gormley notes, ‘the relationship between humanity and the city has become inextricable to the point where this world now builds us. The works in this exhibition are diagnostic instruments that help us examine this condition.’
